Anyone who is to find Christ must first find the church. How could anyone know where Christ is and what faith is in him unless he knew where his believers are? ~Martin Luther
Our life as a community of faith matters. It is the place where God gathers and send us into the world to share the gospel in our daily lives. If we are God’s gathered and sent people, perhaps we should ask ourselves how we are living that out in our daily lives. Below this cartoon (that I also hope will challenge you to think about our faith life outside of church) are two questions from Dr. David Lose’s; Making Sense of the Cross, that I asked on our last Wednesday Lenten worship service. I hope you are willing to think about these questions and even if you wish, please share your thoughts with me as we continue to root around at what our faith life is all about.
1. If we take seriously the cross, the resurrection, and atonement as actual events and experiences, how might that shape our lives?
2. How might it shape the life of our congregation?
